Getting started with Croissant

Croissant gives you a simple page where people can thank you with a small tip, one croissant at a time. This guide walks through the whole setup, from signing in to receiving your first tip. Most people finish in a few minutes.

What you need

• A Google account. Signing in with Google is the only option right now.
• A bank account you can connect to Stripe, which handles payments and payouts.
• A few details for your page: a name, a short bio and, if you like, a photo.

The steps

1. Sign in

Go to the login page and continue with Google. There is no separate password to remember.

2. Claim your link

Pick the address your supporters will visit, such as croissant.beffa.xyz/yourname. You also choose your page's currency at this step. See Claim your link for the rules on names and currency.

3. Set up your page

In the dashboard, add your display name, bio, avatar and cover image, choose an accent colour and set the price of one croissant. The details are in Customize your page.

4. Connect Stripe

Your page can only take payments once your Stripe account is connected and onboarding is complete. Follow Connect Stripe to set it up from the dashboard.

5. Share your page

Put your link wherever your audience already finds you: your bio, your website, a video description or a newsletter. Share your page has some ideas.

What happens next

When someone buys you croissants, the tip shows up in your dashboard with their name and message, if they left one. Stripe pays the money out to your bank on its usual schedule. You can read more in Get paid and Fees.

What Croissant is and is not

Croissant is for one-off tips. There are no memberships, no shop and no posts. That keeps things light for you and for your supporters, who can tip without creating an account.
