Why I made Croissant

I wanted a simple way for people to say thanks for my work. Something like Buy Me a Coffee.

But when I looked at the options, they all wanted to be more than that. Shops, memberships, posts, extras to sell. I didn't need any of it. I just wanted a page with a button.

And I didn't want to give up 5% of every tip for features I'd never use. So I built my own.

What Croissant is

A page with your name, a few words about what you make, and a button. Someone likes your work, they buy you a croissant, the money goes to your bank. That's it.

Why 1%

Running a website costs money: the server, the database, the domain. The 1% covers that. It's not there to grow a company or pay back investors. There aren't any.

Stripe charges its own processing fee on top, like it does everywhere. I can't change that part. The part I can control, I kept as small as I could.

What it won't become

No paid plans, no shop, no feed. If you need memberships or want to sell things, other tools do that well, and I've written honestly about them. Croissant stays the small, simple one.
